This afternoon I was with a very dear friend, who had a severe stroke two years ago.
Now that I am more mobile, at last, we can continue our weekly crafting.
Today Pat painted in watercolour on a textured canvas type paper.
I printed and painted on a dreary old scrap of cream voile curtain - inspired by the colours of the Sweet Peas from our garden.
I'm not sure whether Pat intended to paint holly, but as the printed version looks like it we can make Christmas cards from prints later in the year. It is very effective.
I was experimenting and will 'stamp-print and paint' more plain fabric to use as a base for postcards or TAST stitching.
A lovely afternoon - quite successful too!
Thursday morning ...... I had to start the day with a few more pieces, see Flickr.
Hi Connie, Just love your sweet peas they are one of my favourite flowers. My Dad used to grow them when we were children. I can still remember the perfume.
ReplyDeleteLike your friend's painting too. Was that your in the background.
cheers,
Connie I hope you don't think I'm poking my nose in but I saw your comment on Carolyn's blog about the Festival of Quilts. I don't know your situation at all but I thought it was a shame that you felt you can't go to the Festival because of the walking. Just to say ladies do come in wheelchairs and I think they manage to get round. It would be a shame not to have the chance to enjoy a day at the Show. It's a fantastic experience. Sorry if I've spoken out of turn but I'd love to think you could get there. You can even hire electric wheelchairs if you book them in advance. The site is at http://www.bartrams.net OK I'll shut up now ;o) I'll go and have a look at your blog now :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so pleased you are crafting with Pat again, both your pieces look good!!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to share crafting with a friend :) I love the flowers. Thank you for becoming a follower of my blog. x
